Our Trip to Hawaii!

One of the things I love most about my kids is their amazing imagination!
We were SO tired of looking at this outside..........so when I heard Cole say he was packing for a vacation, I asked where they wanted to go. When he told me Hawaii I decided we could all use a day in Hawaii!
Our morning was complete with swimsuits, beach towels, island music (Jack Johnson)....

making fun island leis to wear.....

delicious smoothies.....

and of course some "sand" volleyball!

Is this not the cutest little swimsuit ever?
Hopefully this will cure us from a day of the winter blahs!
ALOHA from Eagle Mountain!

Tagged

Ok - I've been tagged to write 7 random things about myself - I did something similar to this once, so I will try to think of new things, but my kids are NEEDING treats right now, so this will be fast and I'm sure I'll think of better things after it's over!

#1 Link to the person who tagged you....Raising 4 Boys
#2 Post the rules on your blog.
#3 Share seven random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog.
#4 Tag seven random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
# 5 Leave a comment on their blogs so that they know they have been tagged.

#1 Growing up I was a "Saved By The Bell" fanatic. I know every episode, and if I see one now, I can tell you everything that will happen within the first 30 seconds of the show.
#2 I always snack on sweets while I am cooking dinner. It drives Kris crazy!
#3 The band I have listened to most as of late is "Band of Horses". I grew up listening pretty much only to hard rock and heavy metal, so it's surprising how much of Kris' music I actually love now!
#4 One time when I was in Mexico I swam with dolphins and rode a horse on the beach and into the ocean (it was super freaky at first, but horses really do swim!)
#5 I hate getting dressed, wearing shoes and socks, and a coat. If I could, I would live in pj's and slippers or flip flops.
#6 I have TV shows again this season that I am excited for! American Idol, The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Terminator), Celebrity Apprentice (yes it is DUMB but still fun to watch) and am SO excited that The Office will be back on soon!
#7 One day I want to go to the Oprah Show, The Price is Right, and the Superbowl! (not necessarily all on the same day)

Now 7 people to tag. I tag....Laura C. and Laura D., Shelley E. and Shelley L., Stephanie, Mikelle and Emily!

Camera Happy

I realized it's been awhile since I posted anything new when I loaded the pictures off of my camera last night and there were 185 of them! Here are a few.....
This photo pretty much sums up Josh's mood the last two weeks!
I am hoping it is just the "terrible two's" but I don't know what to do with him! Several times this week I have heard him say "But I WANT to Cry!" AND "I so ornery"

Last week was my turn to have our joy school/preschool at my house. I had the letter "Q". Thursday we had a pre-superbowl party by learning about QuarterbacksI even made a football field cake with the Q in the middle. Not bad for whipping it out right before the kids showed up
Josh and Cole chose to watch "E.T." for their movie night last weekend. As you can see, they were very much into the movie! There is much talk about aliens at our house now. I will have to say that watching it again made me so happy that I stood by ground and didn't go along with Kris in naming Cole "Elliot"Cole was so proud when Alaria kept putting her arm around him. They are such good little buds. He takes great care of her.
Handsome boys ready for church (in their matching attire - I have to do it while they'll still let me!)

Alaria is getting so big! She says "mama, dada, this, Josh, hi and yes"

She is just at the perfect height to stand under the kitchen table - I'm sure it won't last much longer but it's so funny to see her standing under there

No More Tonsils

Josh went in Tuesday moring to get his tonsils and adenoids removed. It turned into a two day hospital stay, but we are happy to report that Josh is home now and all is well. The doctor was amazed at the size of his adenoids, and his tonsils were so big that they touched in the back of his throat and he even had tonsil tissue growing down the back of his throat. I slept by him in the hospital last night and was shocked at how much better he already breathes, and that is still with swelling! Cole came to visit and they raced motorcycles and went for a wagon ride!

Books

Here is my latest read, which I must recommend. Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale. If you like fairy tales, you will love this book! It is different than any book I have ever read, but I absolutely loved it! Please pass on any recommendations you have - I am always looking for a good book to read!

Is It Over Already?

We had a great Christmas but what a busy couple of weeks! I don't know how anybody kept up on their blogs! Well Santa gained approval from my boys this year since we now have about 6 transformers in our house, and yes, a very cool Optimus Prime came for Cole. If only you didn't have to have a college degree to transform him, then we would be fine.
I would have to say that Kris and I's favorite gift we got was Rock Band, and yes, we are addicted. Even Alaria wanted to get in on it!

I also have to share this great moment - a couple days before Christmas and I have all the kids at Walmart (BAD IDEA!!) so things are crazy, Alaria is screaming, Cole is pulling things off the shelves and all of the suden I hear Josh very calmly saying "Here Mom". When I look at him I see that he has taken his own cast off and is holding it out to me! Lucily he was ready to have it off anyway, and he is healed up all fine. Next week he is getting his tonsils out. The poor kids doesn't get a break!
