In Case You Didn't Know....

Breaking Dawn comes out on Saturday. I seriously don't think I could be more excited for this book to come out. I am going with a bunch of girls from my neighborhood tomorrow night to the party at Borders so we can buy the book at midnight. I don't expect my dishes or laundry to be done for the next few days...hope the kidare fine with cereal for dinner this week!

Memories

I'm taking this game off of Shelley's blog ...

1. As a comment on my blog leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me well or not so well, anything you remember.
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and people will leave a memory about you. It's a fun way to get to know each other better.

You Gotta Go See This!

OK, I'll admit...the superhero movie genre is something new to me since the time I got married. But between an obsessed husband and two little boys who truly believe they are any and every superhero, I've had to learn to keep up. You've got to know a lot to stay afloat in this household! We don't get out to the movie theater much these days, but the last three movies that we have gone to are Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, and The Dark Knight.
This weekend Kris and I went to see The Dark Knight. Kris has been building this up for over a year...emailing me from work with screen shots, movie posters, and trailers. We ordered tickets at the IMAX theater a month ago! Friday night we prepared by re-watching Batman Begins. And oh, it was SO good!! I am highly recommending that anyone that sees this blog go see the movie. It was awesome! In fact I already want to go see it again - you've got to see it on the big screen. I won't say more, I don't want to give anything away, but go see it. I think this movie has swayed me to decide that Batman is my favorite Superhero!

P.S. Cole looked over my shoulder and saw this picture (no, we didn't take him to the movie) and said "oh, it's Joker, Batman and Babe Ruth!" Grandpa Gamber will be happy to hear who the new superhero is!!

Mmmmm Mmmmm Good!

Last night we had chili for dinner! While Alaria ate she kept saying "Mmmmm Mmmmmm Mmmmmm"

4th of July Pictures (finally)

We had such a fun 4th of July! After a big sleepover with the whole Gillespie family, we all managed to get up at 6 a.m. to see the hot air balloons! It was worth it though, the kids loved them!Making smores is always fun (and a little dangerous when you have a bunch of little boys running around with hot roaster sticks!)

The highlight of Cole's day
Picnic in the park. Alaria looked so cute - until we gave her food! What was I thinking putting her in white pants?!?
Alaria and Grandpa Gillespie
For the first year ever, we had to skip out on watching the fireworks at the stadium. The kids were just so worn out they couldn't make it, so we came home and did a few of our own.

We had a dutch oven night up in Aspen Grove on the 5th. Kerri and Matt made the MOST delicious dinner I have ever had....including dutch oven cakes! It was so yummy! The kids found all kinds of catepillars and even a snake! Gross! Alaria was just covered in dirt by the time we came home. She loves to play in the dirt and was in heaven up there!
Tradition calls - the kids put on a play every year at the stage at Aspen Grove - complete with costumes! They were so cute!

Imagination

Wow, it's been awhile since I've postd anything. The kids and I spent a week at my mom's house and had so much fun! Here are some recent photos.

Sunday afternoon the boys watched the first Indiana Jones movie with Kris. Monday morning Indiana Jones came down my stairs in the morning! Cole got up and figured out his own "costume" (including a dish towel for a whip) and he seriously stayed in character all day! It was amazing - he never broke it. He talked with a deep voice, and anytime I called him Cole he corrected me by telling me that his name was Indiana Jones. Here are a few of his quotes from the day:
(Keep in mind the deep voice while he's saying all of these)

"Your son invited me here. He said I could come."
"Your boy is in the basement. He'll be there til tomorrow, but he is OK"
"I like blue like your kid does"
"I'll have fruity pebbles because that's what I'm used to having where I come from"
"Michelle (he called me Michelle rather than mom all day) if your daughter tries to get on the kitchen table I will whip her!"
"I saw that movie I am in - Indiana Jones - before your kid saw it and I totally think my rope is tougher"
"Joshua and Alaria - Your mom said to be good!"
"I like to watch kid shows. (then I asked him how old he was) I am almost 24. (when is your birthday, Indiana?) It's tomorrow, Michelle. (Oh wow - tomorrow! We should have a birthday party for you) and without hesitation he holds his hand up with his palm facing me and says "No, no, that's OK. I will be at my house tomorrow and your son will be here"

About halfway through the day Josh got in on the fun and became Batman. He didn't get it quite as well. When we asked where Josh was he would tell us "No I'm not Josh, I am Batman". They sure have an imagination!

Kris and the boys on Father's Day with the gumdrop tie they made him
Alaria found this hat of my dad's while we were visiting and she would either wear it on her head or around her back (see below) the whole week. It was so cute.

We had a fun family picnic in the park a few weeks ago. Thanks to LauraLee for capturing some great photos for me!
