I LOVE a good horror movie.
The scarier the better!
Zombies, vampires, aliens, serial killers...
it just doesn't scare me.
Let me tell you my new fear. Silent Children.
Most kids can go into a room and play quietly for an extended period of time. Not my children! Quiet playing equals TROUBLE!
Let me state a few cases (from the past 2 weeks) to support my statements:
#1 - Cole and Josh quietly playing upstaits. When they come down they show me how they have made "Cool Dude Hair". I find out they have used a half a bottle of shampoo in their hair as gel and also all over their hands and arms as lotion. They did immediately go downstairs and put the toy handcuffs on and put themselves in prison.
#2 - Josh and Alaria quietly playing in the kitchen. I run upstairs, come back and they have spilled a 5 lb. bag of rice all over the kitchen floor, and then all three kids have crawled all through it. Rice was EVERYWHERE!!!
#3 - Josh quietly playing in the kitchen. OR sitting inside of the fridge drinking the bottle of chocolate syrup.
#4- Again - Josh quietly playing in the kitchen. OR sitting under the kitchen table eating tomatoes....which I wouldn't have minded so much if there hadn't been tomato juice and seeds in a 4 foot radius around him!
#5 - Again - kids quietly playing in the kitchen...actually giving Alaria a chocolate/marshmallow/caramel easter egg, which she chewed up, drooled out, spit out, and crawled through, clear across the floor.
#6 - Cole and Josh quietly playing in the back room at my mom's house. OK, they were really flooding her bathroom! I called down there and talked to Cole and his response was "I didn't do it, mom. I just taught Josh how and then HE did it".
I am not even going to go in to details about when I was pregnant with Alaria - however, one day the two boys did empty an entire bottle of chili powder in my oven, turned on the broiler, and filled the house with smoke!

Silence is trouble! I can only enjoy it after the kids are asleep!

Just think how boring your days would be without those two boys! I'm afraid for Owen to be old enough to get into trouble with Ryan! At least you can laugh about it all enough to put it on your blog....I can't wait to hear more!!
I can't wait for Lincoln to grow up...or to have more children!!
I guess it's not true that silence is golden!! You might not have loved the mess, but I sure got a good laugh!! Good luck with those boys, we have lots of fun moments like that!!
Can I tell you how much I loved this post! I could visualize it so well!
Oh Michelle, I'm laughing so hard. I don't know how you stand horror movies, I can't watch them. I must say those are hilarious stories. I'm glad you wrote them all down. Your boys will love reading about them when they are older. Hang in there, one day you'll miss this.
That is so funny, good thing that we love them, or else they might not be alive during those moments. At least you gave us all a good laugh!
Oh, that is hilarious! How do you not go insane after something like that? Seriously: what's your secret? Do you count to 10? Take a deep breath? Whatever you're doing, I wanna know! BTW, my favorite was the last one. Cole didn't do it, just taught the others HOW to so they could get in trouble.. Right? He is sooo smart!
I am laughing sooo hard over all of that! You REALLY have your hands full!!!! You've got some pretty creative kids!
This is hilarious. I love the cool dude hair!
Yeah, silence is the enemy. There was an incident with mashed potatoes that might be too gruesome to describe.
I loved this post!! What a great picture...can't believe THEY got the handcuffs.
So funny...Josh drinking the chocolate syrup. (a boy after Randy's heart)
And Cole is so smart to TEACH his brother so he doesn't get into trouble.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK! Isn't motherhood an adventure?!
AMEN!
wow - those are quite the stories - no wonder you get nervous - I'm just nervous about what I have to look forward to with my boys!
That is too funny...silent children...love them, but don't love the messes.
Yeah, so was it you that posted or Kris? I figured it was you, but when I posted back it went to Kris' site so then I thought it was Kris...
I'm not very good at this...sorry!
Oh my goodness... My sister and I say the same thing. Whenever it is quiet we are saying,"what are you doing" it's always something. It's sad you can't enjoy the silence of your kids.
I love a good serial killer movie too.
