Summer Fun

This will probably go down in history as my longest post ever. It's been a busy, crazy, fun summer so far. Here are some photos. We are getting ready to head to Seattle...wanted to get these posted before I have even more!

In one week we went to the Rodeo in Lehi and the Demolition Derby in Price (gotta love small towns!)
These are the boys trying to tell us how cool the motorcycle tricks were (during the rodeo). I don't think I've ever seen them so excited as when the motorcycles did big jumps and flips in the air. They were both screaming and Josh's little legs were just shaking. It was SO fun to watch them! At Red Robin after the temple open house

These last ones are all from the 4th. We had a fabulous 4th of July this year! We went to Chuck E. Cheese, fed ducks, went to the BYU Museum, had fun BBQs, a big sleepover at grandma and grandpa's house, enjoyed the Hortons HUGE slip 'n slide and loved the fireworks.

Surgery

Yesterday was Josh's surgery. Finally - no more waiting and worrying - his appendix is gone!!

Before they took him back they gave him a sedative and let him lay in this wagon. It only took about 5-10 minutes for him to get pretty loopey. He was laying there laughing and telling us how he was upside down. He was SO cute!

His surgery went perfectly. He was doing so good that we got to bring him home last night intead of staying over...which made us all very happy!
Josh is doing really good now. He's in a lot of pain, but is being so good and so brave. So glad to have it over!
This week I was watching some of our nieces and nephews and was trying to make Josh feel more excited about going to the hospital. So I was telling his cousin Marcus "Did you know that Josh gets to go to the hospital tomorrow and get all better?" and Marcus replied "so he's not going to talk like that anymore?" He is such a funny kid! My kids had so much fun playing with them for two days!

Catching Up...

We had some pictures taken last week. These first 3 are a few of the "sneak-previews" that she sent me. Can't wait to see them all! My brother got married over Memorial weekend. We had a fun weekend with the family.

Josh

Josh's appointment went really well!! They did a bunch of lab work and everything looked so much better, so he was able to get his PICC line out and they scheduled his surgery for June 11. Thanks again to everyone - we couldn't do it without our friends and family!!

Fry Sauce

Here is a conversation from lunch today:
Cole: You know who made this fry sauce? Uncle Rico!
Josh: No he didn't. Jesus made it.
Cole: No, Jesus just made the bottle. Uncle Rico made the fry sauce.


It's been awhile since I've posted anything...maybe one day I will actually load my Easter pictures on my computer. In the meantime, here's an update on Josh. Josh had his appendix burst. He has been sick for 3 weeks. We took him to the ER early in this and the doctor didn't catch it. Luckily we were able to take him in this past week and get more tests and he was admitted to Primary Children's Hospital for 3 days. They sent us home after putting a PICC Line in Josh and we are giving him heavy-duty antibiotics to kill the infection, as well as pain medication. We have an appointment this week with the Surgeon to see where things are at, but once the infection is all cleared up they will go in and remove his appendix. They caught it too late and if they did surgery this week it would have re-spread all of the infection throughou his body, so that is why we are waiting. This will apprently create an easier surgery with better results...a faster recovery. Josh has been SO tough and brave and has been through a lot. We are so grateful for all of our family and friends and all of the support that we have received!
